Required SQUAD 12 task • October 1, 2026

Start your
financial-aid path.

Learn what FAFSA and ORSAA do, privately choose the path that fits you, and complete the right first step. You are not completing the full FAFSA or ORSAA today.

Keep private information private.

Never enter or submit your Social Security number, password, backup code, tax information, immigration information, or family financial details on this site, in Canvas, or to the substitute. Official account information belongs only on the official government website.

Choose one path—not both. Do not complete the full application today.

Follow either the FAFSA pathway or the ORSAA pathway. FAFSA students will create or confirm their FSA ID. ORSAA students will review the official guidance and take the first setup steps. If you are unsure which path applies to you, use the official filter or ask for private help before continuing.

Step 01 • Choose privately

Which path should you follow?

You do not need to announce your choice. Open the path that fits you. If you are unsure, use the official Oregon filter before continuing.

Path A

FAFSA

Use this path if FAFSA is the correct application for you. Your first step is creating or confirming your StudentAid.gov account (often called an FSA ID).

Follow the FAFSA path →
Path B

ORSAA

Use this path if ORSAA is the correct Oregon financial-aid application for you. Today you will take the first setup steps and make your next-step plan—not complete the full ORSAA.

Follow the ORSAA path →

  4. Create secure sign-in information.Set your username, password, and two-step verification. Save any backup code somewhere private.
  5. Stop when your account is created.Do not submit a screenshot or share your username, password, code, or private information.
