From Mr. Jones
Welcome back, SQUAD families!
We are beginning the year by reconnecting, getting organized, and making sure every student knows where they stand and who is available to help. The goal is not to fill class time with busywork. Every task should help students understand themselves, make a useful plan, or complete a real step toward success in school and life after graduation.
This week in SQUAD
Reconnect. Reflect. Get organized.
Students reviewed how SQUAD will work this year, reconnected with their community, identified support people, and set one meaningful first-month goal.
We also began building the routines students will use throughout the semester to monitor assignments, deadlines, grades, credits, and next steps.
What we worked on
Different stages. Shared purpose.
Starting sophomore year with awareness
Students began their welcome survey, took an honest academic snapshot, and prepared to review credits and graduation progress.
Open SQUAD 10 materials →Turning senior goals into action
Students began checking graduation readiness, building a practical senior-year action plan, and launching the SQUAD hoodie design challenge.
Open SQUAD 12 materials →Family conversation starter
“What is one goal you want to feel proud of by the end of September?”
Follow up by asking what support—or reminder—would actually be helpful.
Celebration & highlight
